Grace Cooper – Managing editor

Grace is Tempest’s Managing Editor and is currently in her last year at Chemeketa before transferring to Western Oregon University as a Pre-Education major with a concentration in middle/high school Language Arts and a minor in ESOL Education. She lives right in the heart of Salem and plans to teach middle school English Language Arts in low-income school districts. Some of Grace’s favorites include radical feminist philosophy, crossword puzzles, cheesy retro horror novels, and any shade of pink. She loves blasting punk rock music and is an admirer of corny Valentine’s Day memorabilia and grandpa sweaters; she hates hot weather and loud noises. You can find Grace walking the opposite direction to avoid conversating with you or happily going through her endless stacks of books that stand shapelessly on her bedside table.

Isabella Clark – Reporter

Isabella is a staff writer with Tempest and will graduate from Chemeketa after the summer of 2024. She plans to transfer and complete a dual degree in English and Philosophy. Additionally, she is a member of the English club on campus and enjoys reading in her off time. Outside of school, she works as a bartender and volunteers with local non-profit organizations.

Emily Mackley – Reporter/digital support

Born and raised in Oregon, the streets of Salem have been home for Emily. As a senior in the Salem-Keizer school district, this spring she will graduate with both her high school diploma and three associate’s earned at Chemeketa. While primarily a student at the Salem campus, she loves salsa dancing at Chemeketa’s Woodburn campus. Emily splits her time between working, studying, and heading her youth group as the Class President of the young women.
